Enterprise Applications Group
Our mission
The mission of the Enterprise
Applications group is to help create and achieve an information system
vision for the University's enterprise business systems through planning,
organization, execution and innovation; while simultaneously maintaining the
effective on-going operations of our enterprise class systems, e-business
and data warehouse.
Projects and project management
All work performed by the Enterprise Applications group is tracked and prioritized through our project
management system.
Read on for more information about our projects and project management.
Enterprise Resource and Planning (ERP): Project EntERPrise
In April 2004 the University began a five-year project to replace our existing enterprise systems with a new suite of
systems, collectively called an ERP suite. The new systems will be based on more modern tools, relational
database technology, and incorporate best practices for both IT and business users. Please visit the
Project EntERPrise
website for further updates on the ERP project.
Important information regarding the enterprise systems freeze
Beginning in April 2005 the Enterprise Applications Group is recommending
a freeze on any new system development on our core enterprise systems
(HRS, FRS, SIS, and SAM) and interfaces to these core systems.
We are significant shifting resources away
from legacy system development and towards our Banner ERP implementation,
Project EntERPrise. The
freeze will affect each enterprise system in turn, beginning with HRS and
FRS. Please
review the systems
freeze memorandum to
determine if your work request falls into this category. As a general rule,
production issues, DBD changes, regulatory updates, and fixes for system defects without an
existing workaround will be accepted and prioritized. Any other changes,
including fixes for system defects with workarounds, will need prior approval
from the Administrative Technology Subcommittee (ATS).
Documentation
Public documentation is available through
this link. Also available in the documentation area is a list of available
reporting tools and reports for our enterprise systems, ranging from e~Print (batch reports from enterprise server
transactions) to the data warehouse report libraries, the eDirectory, and more.
Systems
The Enterprise Applications group supports and maintains a diverse set of administrative, e-business, data warehouse,
and academic information systems for both the entire University as well as some individual departments or offices.
